I meant to rate this place a 4 out of five stars. It wasn't perfect but it was as close to paradise as we could get. The pool was great, the scenary was beautiful, and the house was huge. All for an outstanding price. We had some issues but what place doesn't. I would go back over and over again.

The house was in very bad state of repair. It is up for sale and it is quite evident the owners do not care about the upkeep of the unit. The toilets leaked onto the floor. there is visible termite and dryrot damage troughout the house. the pool was a problem throughout our stay. the patio furniture was rusty and falling apart. the doors did not lock and unlock properly. the refrigerator would freeze up and not hold a steady temperature. the kitchen was very poorly equiped for cooking anything but the most basic meals. the wooden dock boards were in need of replacement and we recieved several splinters as a result. there was not a guest instruction book to let us know when garbage pick up was and that we needed to put the cans on the sidewalk. we ended up with a mountain of garbage on the side of the house. simple communication would have prevented this.

the location was very nice on the water with easy access to the beach. we had several iguanas that kept us company throughout the week which was a real treat. we saw manatees in one of the main canals close by. the weather was very good during the week we were there with highs in the 70s and lows in the 60s.

We would enjoy coming back to visit the area but would not stay in that house unless their was major renovation done to the property.
